Randy Moss

Randy Moss - Randy Moss may soon be donning a Jets jersey. NFL Network is reporting that the New York Jets may be considering bringing Moss in as a wide receiver for the team.
The New York Jets have already made a deal with Santonio Holmes to the tune of $50 million. The Toronto Sun reported that Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards tweeted, “I would love to be a Jet but the feeling doesn’t seem to be mutual with the management.” If Edwards doesn’t return to the team, the Jets may be seeking a replacement. And that replacement could be Moss.

NBC Sports reported back in May that the Jets might be interested in Moss. He’s currently a wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans. The 34-year-old Rand, WV-native is in his 14th season with the NFL. He began his professional football career with the Minnesota Vikings. Then a short stint with the Oakland Raiders was followed by the New England Patriots and then a quick jump back to the Vikings before becoming a Titan in 2010.

NFL teams are preparing for the new season since the lockout between players and owners has been finally settled. The dispute lasted for four and a half months. Right now, teams are scrambling to sign free agents and open their training camps to get ready for regular season games.

In related news, the Associated Press reported that employees of the Jets organization began receiving back pay from owner Woody Johnson. The Associated Press reported that a source said Johnson told staff in a meeting,

“When you walk out of this room, the money should already be in your accounts." It was also reported that Johnson said in an email, “"It all starts now.” He continued, “"The players are returning, Mike and Rex have never been more ready, and Jets football is officially back. I hope you're ready for what I'm confident will be a memorable 2011 season."
